Description:

The Regulation, Accreditation, and Payment Group is calling for authors to write short (1-2 paragraph) bulletins and longer (1-2 page) briefings. We are flexible on content. Examples may include short updates regarding changes in regulatory or payment policies, summaries of proposed or final rules (or specific changes made in such rules), or brief summaries concerning the status of fast-developing areas of law.  A purely illustrative list is provided below, but please feel free to propose other topics.

    • Summarizing major changes made in the Contract Year 2026 Policy and Technical Changes Final Rule concerning Medicare Advantage, Part D, and PACE, proposed 2026 Medicare payment rules (including the recently-published IPPS proposed rule), and ACA-related rules (including the Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters for 2026 and the 2025 Marketplace Integrity and Affordability Proposed Rule).
    • Summarizing provisions of the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule covering complex areas of reimbursement policy including changes to ACO and MIPS reporting requirements, coverage for new services (including Advanced Primary Care Management Services, Caregiver Training Services), changes to behavioral health policies, and new policies concerning Medicare dental coverage.
    • Changes to Medicaid policies concerning 1115 waivers.
    • Summarizing current proposals concerning the Medicaid program budget, including proposed limits on provider taxes or requirements for states to assume portions of Medicaid expansion obligations.
    • The current status of value-based models like the Medicare Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM).
    • Status of developments in ongoing areas including 340B, risk adjustment, and telehealth coverage.
    • Developments  in accreditation policy, including proposed health AI accreditation.
