The Payers, Plans and Managed Care Practice Group seeks a pair of authors to write a piece on the litigation by various Medicare Advantage Organizations challenging CMS's calculation of 2024 Star Ratings. While CMS has recalculated  2024 Star Ratings in the wake of successful legal challenges by a couple MAOs, CMS has not yet indicated whether it will file an appeal in either or both cases. Regardless CMS's decision to appeal, the PPMC PG thinks this litigation is worth a closer look so PPMC PG members may understand the larger regulatory issues at play with respect to CMS's Star Ratings program for Medicare Advantage.
